I cannot believe a year has gone by since Simple Life Pattern Company (aka SLPco) started selling amazing patterns. Honestly it feels like they have been around forever because I use their patterns so much!
I am so lucky that Brenna will wear pretty much anything I ask her to, unless of course it's a pair of jeans and a tshirt--hehe! I still remember laying out her school shirt and a pair of jeans to wear on spirit day when she was in the first grade, and after she made a face like I had asked her to wear a garbage bag to school her response was, "Mom, you know I dress fancy!" Here we are two years later, and she still loves wearing Mommy made clothes everyday. Since she is getting older I feel like I need to make her more sophisticated designs. SLPco is exactly the style of patterns that I look for nowadays. I believe they are not only age appropriate (they look good on young and older girls alike), but they are also practical for everyday wear. I see her wanting to wear SLPco patterns for as long as she will fit into them (thank goodness their girl patterns go up to a 12!)
I have been testing patterns for SLPco since day one. I love getting to be behind the scenes seeing what new designs they have up their sleeves. Katie, Laura, and Ashley (the amazing designers) always come up with fresh designs and work so hard to make sure they are putting out a great pattern. During this anniversary celebration they are releasing several new patterns, and I was able to test a couple. Here is my version of two awesome patterns coming soon to SLPco!
First up is Braxton's Blazer. I fell in love with this Blazer when Katie first previewed it, and I couldn't wait for it to go into testing. I was not disappointed when I made it. There are several options to choose from in this pattern, but I chose the open back, long sleeve, simple front version. And oh my! How cute is this!! I love it paired with this lace shirt; it really brought out the detail of the open back.
I am still obsessing over Maureen Cracknell's newest fabric line, Fleet and Flourish by Art Gallery Fabrics. I love every single piece in the collection. This print, Swifting Flora in Swell, is my favorite. I lined the jacket with Expanded Aim in Terra. You can see a little peek of that fabric here.
The next pattern I tested was Lexi's Strappy Back Dress. This dress is another showstopper--especially from the back. Look at those straps!
This dress has several options as well. My favorite option on this dress is the pockets. Perfect for storing little treasures and easy peasy to add.
For the fabric on this dress I decided to use some prints from the other colorway of Fleet and Flourish. The bodice fabric is All Paths Sunlit, a sweet arrow print. The skirt is the gorgeous floral print What Awaits Profoundly--love that shade of purple! I used theprint Gentle Mantle Flame for the straps. The perfectly matching silk sari tieback is from The Little Sparrow Boutique.
Both of these patterns are releasing THIS THURSDAY the 28th!!!! How exciting is that! And better yet, these are not the only ones. Just wait until you see all the other beauties!! Be sure to join SLPco's facebook fan group so you can see all the sneak peeks and find out about the awesome giveaways they are doing for their anniversary celebration.
If you are wondering where all the GORGEOUS fabrics are from, they were provided by Punkin Head Threads. Talk about doing a happy dance when I received these gorgeous prints in the mail! Do yourself a favor and stop by her group and look at all her fabrics! I love all the Art Gallery Fabrics (plus more!). Laura always gets the newest fabrics fast and is such a joy to work with!
